ROTATION

It is grown in the root vegetable bed.

CULTIVATION

Seeds are sown in place in March ( for the early forced varieties) to June ( for the winter conservation varieties).
Sow during a waning crescent moon.

NEIGHBOURING PLANTS

The carrot appreciates being planted near onions and radishes but dislikes being near potatoes.

DISEASES AND PARASITES

Blight may destroy young plants.
Mildew, powdery mildew and alternia radicina ( fertilise with  lithothamme) are the principal diseases . ADVICESow carrots and radishes in a mix close to the rows of onions and leeks.
