| Things to do in the garden
- Maintain plant protections against the cold.
- Sow seeds for exotic plants (peppers, etc;) and keep in the house at a temperature of 20° minimum. Re-pot your house plants.
- In the orchard prune the apple and pear trees to the 3rd bud. Prune the shrubs and small fruit bushes like the raspberries.
- Finish the winter treatments on the seed pip fruit trees. One month after pruning use a Bordeaux mixture as an anti-cloque and aphid treatment on the stone fruit trees.
- In the vegetable garden prepare the cold frames and plan the future crops bearing in mind crop rotation.
- Prepare soil mixtures for flower containers.
- Destroy any moss in the lawn.
- Hard prune new hedges, finish tree pruning.
